  • When our on demand water heating system developed a leak I was relieved to find these guys. They were able to fix the problem and help with other suggestions to make the system last longer. The original installer is no longer in business and other technicians were not familiar with the unit. John was able to find the problem quickly and scheduled the repair immediately.

  • John’s Home Comfort was highly responsive, provided excellent service and was extremely responsive when we needed to install a new tankless water heater quickly. Grateful for John’s flexibility and quick response during a busy time, squeezing us in when every other service provider was only booking weeks away.

  • The technicians at John's Home Comfort were courteous, professional and on-time. I would recommend them for any HVAC installation. In my case they did a great job installing a new Navien tankless water heat.

IS IT TIME TO UPGRADE MY HVAC?

A functioning HVAC system is vital to a comfortable home, but like all home appliances, HVAC systems eventually break down.

Unlike other appliances, three different components-- heating, ventilation, and air conditioning-- make up your HVAC system. Because of this, it's unlikely that your entire system will fail at once. However, even if your air conditioning continues to work after your furnace breaks down, it might be in your best interest to do a full HVAC replacement.

To Repair or Replace?

Most HVAC systems have a lifespan of 10 to 12 years. So, if your AC is 8 or 9 years old when your furnace bites the dust, it's probably worth replacing the whole thing. Obviously, you don't want to spend money on a new unit when the old one still works, but it's worth remembering that replacing your HVAC system all at once can save significant time and money. As technology changes, replacing one system/unit while keeping others may not work as effectively as it should.

The quote, shopping, and installation processes take time. If you decide to replace a furnace and hold on to your aging AC, you'll likely be in the same spot a few years (or months) later. Upgrading your full HVAC system eliminates this second round of shopping.

Proactively replacing a system also saves you from spending money on repairs. Yes, it's usually possible to repair a unit, but if you're spending more than $1,000, it's probably not worth it. Frequent fixes add up; you'll save money in the long run by replacing your full system sooner rather than later.

Is It Time To Upgrade My HVAC?

Time For An Upgrade?

Even if all the components of your HVAC system are operational, you might want to consider an upgrade, especially if your HVAC is nearing its expiration.

You don't want to get caught in a Toronto winter without a furnace. Keep a close eye on aging HVAC components. If you hear strange noises or notice a significant difference in the comfort of your home, call in a professional to see what's going on.

Efficiency is also something to consider when deciding if it's time for an HVAC upgrade. New units are simply more energy efficient than older systems and can save money on gas and electricity. New systems also tend to be quieter.

Your Questions, Answered

At John's Home Comfort, we strive to make the process of upgrading your HVAC as simple as possible. Read on for answers to some of our customers' most common questions. And please, don't hesitate to contact us with any further questions.

What Heating Or Cooling Capacity Do I Need?

It depends. Bigger is not always better, but you don't want an overworked system. You also can't assume that your existing equipment is the right size

-- there's no guarantee that the previous homeowners did their
homework as far as determining the best capacity for the house.

When you decide to replace your HVAC system, contact JHC for a consultation and quote. Our professionals can recommend a properly sized system for your home.

How Much Do You Charge For A Consultation And Quote?

Nothing! Please contact us, and we'll gladly set up an appointment to provide you with a free estimate.

Are Your Products Under Warranty?

Yes. All of our systems come with a 10-year warranty on parts and labour.

Is Financing Available?

Yes. We'll gladly work with your family to set up a payment plan that works for you.
